Body Image Test for Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)

BDD is a condition that involves an intense preoccupation with a particular aspect(s) of physical appearance. Some of the possible symptoms are listed in the questions below.

yes no 1. Do you go out of your way to avoid mirrors or other shiny surfaces?
yes no 2. Do you spend more than one hour a day checking your appearance in mirrors?
yes no 3. Do you camouflage (hide or cover up) your perceived defects with clothing, hats, scarves, or cosmetics?
yes no 4. Do you compare your appearance to others frequently?
yes no 5. Do you go out of your way to avoid social interactions?
yes no 6. Do you avoid certain lighting conditions?
yes no 7. Have you consulted repeatedly with dermatologists or cosmetic surgeons in order to find ways to improve your appearance?
